Although 2015 was an incredible growing season, 2016 was even better. Long, hot days and cool nights that ran right through September, allowed us to let the fruit hang until mid October. The pink-coloured fruit was pressed in our half-ton basket press. The wine was then fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottled in late March. Mandarin orange and lychee on the nose gives this Gewurtz an intoxicating aroma that really demands attention. The peach and the passion fruit on the palette give this fresh white wine a clean and crisp finish. Although this year’s vintage is slightly sweeter it’s still considered an off dry wine (nobody panic). Pairs well with crab, pork, and aromatic foods like curry and ginger.
