We typically harvest Gewürztraminer before all the other grapes so you might say that these grapes get a little VIP treatment. The 2014 Gewürztraminer from Hugh & Mary Vineyard was hand-picked over four days and left to sit on the skins for twenty-four to forty-eight hours.
Hugh & Mary Vineyard grew some amazing fruit in 2014 and the Gewürztraminer was no exception. These beautiful, pink-coloured clusters were pressed in our half-ton basket
press. The wine was then fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottled in early June (as we always run little behind schedule).
Crisp lime and Mandarin on the nose give this Gewurtz an intoxicating aroma but it’s the peach and the passion fruit on the palette that give this off dry white wine a fresh and clean finish. Pairs well with spicy Thai dishes, fresh crab or just a plain old sun-soaked patio.
